As the Christmas countdown started all over the country, the Night Bazaar formally opened in the City of Balanga. Through a motorcade that made the rounds of the city proper on the afternoon of October 30, spectators had a glimpse of what the night bazaar showcases.
It has been a customary for Public Market Office to add glamour to start the night bazaar as an initial event for the Yuletide season. It has a food section where various booths offer delightful snacks and dinner. Enticing both market investors and customers to have a good time, this year’s bazaar offers a clean place worth visiting by family members and friends for shopping, or simply bonding.
The annual Night and Food Bazaar is an anticipation of Balanga’s month-long Christmas celebration and will last until the end of December.
Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia spearheaded the symbolic ribbon cutting that signaled the bazaar’s formal opening. He noted that with the way the night market was dressed up, people are assured of good- quality products. He also added that for the season to be more significant, one should not forget the true meaning of Christmas.
Vice-Mayor Vianca Lita V. Gozon led Sangguniang Panglungsod members in attending the bazaar’s opening, She assured market goers and investors of the full support of the city’s public servants.
In a short message, Councilor Hubert Pizarro, chairman of the Committee on Market Administration, lauded public market staff for their effort, particularly in keeping the market place clean and safe for its patrons.
Director Nelin Cabahug of the Department of Trade and Industry-Bataan, Board Member Noel Valdecañas, select Punong Barangays headed by Councilor Elmer Castrence, and representatives from MSGC also attended the formal opening. By: Cyrus Dela Cruz
