As a way of expressing gratitude for the opportunity accorded to City of Balanga to sponsor the LCC Winner’s Forum that commenced earlier on February 17, 2017, City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia hosted a simple, yet symbolic dinner at Lou-Is Resort and Restaurant Grand Ballroom, City of Balanga attended by local chief executives and representatives from DepEd and other education sectors in Luzon cluster.
Ms. Raquel Francis Garcia, Chairperson of the Balanga City Tourism Council (BCTC), formally welcomed the guests in her opening remarks. Thanking them for a very productive day, she cited the participants’ willingness to share their best practices by threshing out ways on how to wipe out illiteracy.
Mayor Francis personally thanked the participants, different agencies, and the personalities behind the success of the event, for their effort to upgrade the education status of the youth who are at the core of the city government’s various programs.
Moreover, in his speech, Garcia delightedly conveyed his admiration to Naga City and Pasay City for their presentation on their best practices which could benefit residents of other towns and local government units.
Congressman Joet Garcia, with wife Isabel, was also present to celebrate and have a good time with the distinguished guests.
The night showcased the talents of Koro Bangkal Magbikin, V-Crew Dancers and HOM Two-Man Band who provided entertainment for the guests. Also showing support for this significant affair were City Councilors Vic Baluyot and Jorescel Panganiban, city government department heads led by City Administrator Rodolfo de Mesa, city mayor’s office and members of Ugnayang Balangueno.
The night was highlighted by a special number performed by BNHS SPA dancers that encouraged everyone in the Grand Ballroom to dance with them, feel the beat of the music and enjoy the rest of the evening.
