It had been a dynamic 2017 for City Government of Balanga employees as they presented their Vision Alliance Circle’s (VAC) overwhelming accomplishments in the Performance Governance System (PGS) Annual Review at the Audio Visual Room, Balanga City Hall on January 17.
These VAC’s are conceived to accommodate the city’s vision through an initiative called “Pinaka-Importanteng Gawain” (PIG) – a short-term target, or goal, of a VAC. Once fulfilled, these circles are entitled to formulate new PIG’s related to their area of expertise.
Divided into a morning and an afternoon session, a total of 28 VAC’s presented their journey and efforts in contributing to the city in brief, but essential, reports. Plenary sessions afterwards heated up the activity as department heads and guest panelists from Ugnayang Balangueño, City of Balanga’s Multi-Sectoral Governance Coalition, raised questions and offered advice to further improve the VAC’s proposed PIG’s for the first half of 2018.
The Annual Review would not have been complete without its rewards and recognitions. To wit, the most zealous VAC’s were: DBO, DRM Inc, Isumbong Mo sa CPSO, Brgy. Pathway, COB+, Bantay Negosyo, HMS TFG, Balanga Startup Forums, and SIV; Best VAC’s were: Skills and Hobby VAC, Vertigrow, BLH/SLH Creation and Promotion, Likap and Techno Club.
There were also individual recognitions given to Remar P. Dela Cruz of Techno Club as Best VAC Leader, Maria Soledad Lamira of Techno Club as Best VAC member, and Nerisa Anilao of City Civil Registrar’s Office and the City Public Safety Office (CPSO) as COB+ Patrons.
Meanwhile, City Accounting Office Head Myrna Roman advised city employees to fully embrace VAC and display more creativity in their PIG for the benefit of Balanga’s vision.
In behalf of Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia, City Social and Welfare Development Office (CSWD) Head Gloria M. Abejar ended the review with her closing remarks. By Kalvin Gerald S. Orgasan
